It’s 6 days…

Holy Guacamole…it’s ONLY 6 days until I throw myself headlong into the Evolation Abu Dhabi Teacher Training.

I am filled with so many mixed emotions regarding becoming a ‘yoga teacher’. For so long I have thought of myself as the student. Each teacher and instructor I have ever met has given me a little pearl of wisdom in one-way shape or form. Some teachers have had a ...

now back to the yoga

now back to the yoga

It’s official; I am an Abu Dhabi nomad. I must say, I am as amused to be writing that as it must sound to read. It’s mostly humorous because there really is no point in taking it any other way.

Here’s why:
My official resignation date was October 5th and this course started the following morning. I was informed by Etihad housing that I had a grace of seven days ...

where has the time gone?

where has the time gone?

It’s coming to the end of our second week and I cannot believe how fast time has gone by. I looked through our group pictures today and some of them feel like they were taken a lifetime ago. Time is funny like that.

takes long and goes quick

As it is happening, it can feel never-ending, and yet here we are, half way through our training. I am in awe. ...

Day 14 – What a day!

I knew this experience was going to firmly push me out of my comfort zone but today showed me a new meaning to being out of my comfort zone!

Standing Bow Pulling Pose was today’s teaching clinic and it isn’t a pose I am going to forget anytime soon for a number of reasons.

the balance between holding on and letting go

the balance between holding on and letting go

day 11

“Life is a delicate balance of holding on and letting go.”

I wonder if the person who first uttered those words was a yogi because it speaks to every part of the teacher training process. We are constantly being forced to hold onto integrity and let go of ego. Or hold onto stillness and let go of chatter. Inhale the positive and exhale the negative. ...

day 9

Well I’d like to say that getting up at 5:30am and falling back into bed at 11:30pm gets easier but that would be a bold faced lie. In fact, hard as I try my body seems to be working against me.

It doesn’t make sense. I understand that the days are long and the overload of information combined with the never-ending dialogue cram is taking a toll but I had ...

When I write it all out like that it sounds quite daunting. And to anyone who may be reading this, it could very well terrify the hello out of them. But you know what? (And I say this now during week one) It’s ...

day 3

I love how drastically one day can differ from the next. My charged emotional response less than 24-hours earlier now feels like a lifetime ago. Today had such infinite possibility and proved to be quite a different experience.

I woke up at 5:30am to give myself time to look over the posture of the day. I hadn’t begun to memorize it before that moment and I was going to ...
